The Governments of Kenya and Finland have partnered to cushion residents of the seven districts in Busia County against high levels of poverty.
The joint partnership aims at reducing poverty and improving livelihoods and living standards of the poor communities in Teso-North, Teso-South, Busia, Nambale, Butula, Samia and Bunyala districts.

The Ministry of State for Planning, National Development and Vision 2030 has maintained number one position in the performance contract evaluation results for the 2010/2011 Financial year.
In the results released by H.E President Mwai Kibaki and Prime Minister, Rt. Hon. Raila Odinga, on Monday, the Ministry was ranked first in the category of Ministries/ Departments beating 45 others after attaining a composite score of 1.9382 compared to the 2.1010 it achieved last year.
