The Division is charged with the responsibility of conducting policy research and analysis in order to facilitate policy making. It is in the process of developing the country’s T21 macroeconomic model to be used in analyzing Climate change issues, MDG goals and in tracking the implementation of Kenya Vision 2030 goals. Also, in collaboration with KIPPRA and the KNBS, the division will update the Social Accounting Matrix (SAM) and develop input/output tables to facilitate policy making decisions. The division is also responsible for modeling and forecasting macroeconomic variables; building capacity for economic modeling and producing periodic reports and tables for policy makers. It also manages, maintains and acts as custodian of the modeling systems and information.
