This afternoon the Economic Planning Principal Secretary Dr. Bonface Makokha joined trainees undertaking the capacity building on sustainable planning for Resilient Economies today that was officially launched on 7th October, 2025 by The Prime Cabinet Secretary Hon Musalia Mudavadi.
While interacting with the trainees, the PS reiterated on sustainable planning and emphasized on the need for collaboration between the national and county planners in developing the next long-term plan.
He implored on participants to collaborate on identifying challenges, gaps and lessons learned from the Kenya Vision 2030 as a base in developing the next plan. The PS observed that technology will be the backbone pillar in the next long-term plan.
PS Makokha informed the participants of the upcoming “Gumzo la Uchumi Mashinani” initiative that intends to take economic Planning to the villages.
“The Spirit should be, Leave no one Behind, so that Kenyans feel part and parcel of the plans being made.” said the PS.
The PS committed to support the National and County planners to work as a team.
In this first cohort, which runs from 5th to11th this month, participants are drawn from 25 Counties.
The PS was accompanied by the Ag. EPS Timothy Gakuu who is in charge of Strategy, Coordination and Management and the Secretary Administration, Dr. Haron Komen.
