The Official Closing Ceremony Of The 2025 Annual National SDGs Multi-Stakeholders Conference

The 2025 Annual National Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Multi-Stakeholders Conference came to a close today, Friday 28th November, 2025 in Mombasa County.
The Multi-Stakeholders collaboration is important as reiterated under the SDG 17 and reinforced by the Pact for the Future. It focuses on strengthening global, regional, national and local partnerships so as to support the implementation of all the Sustainable Development Goals.
During the last day session, representatives from various County Governments such as Homa Bay, Mombasa, Nakuru, West Pokot, Bungoma, Makueni and Nyeri facilitated an insightful session highlighting on the significance of County-level innovations and collaboration.
Moreover, the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS) noted that the Country currently reports on 171 out of 252 SDGs indicators.
The Bureau further emphasized on it’s commitment to addressing the existing data gaps that continue to hinder effective implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals.
In addition, the Donors Round Table on Bridging the Gap in Financing SDGs in Kenya, provided a platform for development partners to reaffirm their support for Kenya’s development priorities.
The Key outcomes from the Conference include: Continuous dissemination of conference outcomes; convening thematic pre-conferences; finalization of the SDGs Multi-Stakeholder Engagement Framework and Communication Strategy; strengthening SDGs units within counties; capacity buildings for policymakers and technical officers; development of a resource mobilization strategy among others.
The Kaiti Constituency Member of Parliament, Hon. Joshua Kimilu, officially closed the conference by reaffirming the commitment to“Leave No One Behind” as Kenya accelerates its efforts toward achieving the 2030 Agenda.
MP Kimilu underscored the prominence of leveraging Public–Private Partnerships (PPPs) and expressed appreciation to all stakeholders for their steadfast commitment and collective efforts towards achieving the 2030 target.
During the three-day conference, participants assessed the country’s progress on the Sustainable Development Goals, identified areas of advancement and gaps that require a renewed focus.
The 2025 conference reaffirmed the Country’s commitment to strengthening strategic partnerships, promoting innovative financing approaches as well as enhancing collaboration among all stakeholders.
In attendance during the Official Closing were; the International Economic Partnership and Frameworks Directorate Director, Festus Wangwe, SDGs Kenya Forum Executive Director, Ms. Florence Syevuo, Suna West MP Hon. Francis Masara and Directors of Planning among other Participants.
