Good governance is the foundation upon which successful planning, budgeting and service delivery are built. The Principal Secretary, Dr. Bonface Makokha, reaffirms.
Earlier today, Wednesday 11th February, 2026, the Economic Planning Principal Secretary Dr. Bonface Makokha, addressed a consultative meeting with the Heads of Divisions and Units drawn from the Administration Directorate at the Treasury Building.
The main agenda focused on the Heads’ progress reports, issues regarding their observations, challenges faced and proposed amicable solutions within their respective Divisions and Units and the larger State Department.
Speaking during the meeting, PS Makokha emphasized that Administration is the backbone of the institutional effectiveness and a primary determinant of Departmental programs success.
He highlighted that effective management of public resources is key in delivering measurable results, ensuring smooth operations, timely contract payments and verification of compliance to all procurable goods and deliverable services.
Equally important, the Department is committed to enhancing financial predictability by minimizing last-minute budgetary readjustments and reallocations that disrupt implementation of programs and services, he added.
“As we move forward, we pledge to fostering a team-oriented environment, strengthening internal systems and reinforcing equitable compliance and accountability mechanisms,” PS Makokha stated.
Moreover, through effective planning, proactive alignment and disciplined execution, the State Department will continue to enhance its capacity to efficiently manage public resources and deliver feasible economic outcomes.
Prominently, impactful coordination with The National Treasury and other key Stakeholders remains a central priority that ensures policy objectives are translated into actionable plans and tangible outcomes.
