Meeting on Implementation Action Plan for the Performance Contract for FY 2024/2025
The Economic Planning Principal Secretary, James Muhati has taken the initiative to lead the SDEP Team in the implementation of the Performance Contract for the Financial Year 2024/2025.
While addressing the Heads of Directorates, Departments, Divisions, and Units on Tuesday, 4th February 2025, the assertive PS emphasized that all targets in the Performance Contract must achieve a higher score than in the previous Financial Year.
The one-day crucial consultative meeting convened at the Treasury Building, was to ensure that all pending targets are effectively met in the remaining implementation period through collaborative actions.
During the morning and afternoon meeting sessions, the State Department’s Action Plans, which outlines the specific steps required to implement all the outstanding issues were discussed at length and solutions to resolve them spelt out.
The consultative sessions also provided an opportunity for the teams to assess the progress made, acknowledge the achievements realized, identify key activities and next steps necessary to ensure the smooth execution of the pending tasks.
One of the significant highlights of the meeting was the recognition of the importance of teamwork in the execution of the Performance Contract. The PS emphasized that achieving the goals outlined in the PC requires the collective effort of the entire Ministry as this collaborative approach is vital to overcoming challenges and ensuring that the set targets are successfully achieved in a timely manner.
A comprehensive presentation on the SDEP’s Performance Contract FY 2024/2025 Implementation Plan was made. The presentation served as a key update on the status of various projects and activities, with a particular focus on the steps that still need to be taken to fulfill the pending performance contract projects. The plan is designed to guide the State Department’s efforts in aligning its activities with the targets set out in the Performance Contract, ensuring that resources are effectively utilized, and that each project progresses according to the established timelines.
Additionally, while moderating some sessions, the Economic Planning Secretary (EPS), Timothy Gakuu laid special emphasis on the preparation and dissemination of the Quarterly Status of the Annual Economic Reports. Further, he highlighted the importance of ensuring that these reports are prepared and disseminated promptly in order to provide up-to-date information on the state of Kenya’s economy.
The consultative meeting served as a vital platform for the SDEP team to come together and refine their strategies, ensuring that all steps are in place for a successful implementation of the performance contract targets. By addressing the pending activities, acknowledging past successes, and charting a clear path forward, the team is committed to achieving its goals for the year 2024/2025.
PS Muhati concluded by thanking all members for their continued effort geared towards achieving the State Department’s goals.
