Principal Secretary Dr. Bonface Makokha meets with the International Economic Partnerships and Frameworks Coordination Directorate
The Economic Planning Principal Secretary Dr. Bonface Makokha continued with his meet and greet session with his first meeting being with the International Economic Partnerships and Frameworks Coordination Directorate on 24th April afternoon.
The PS was welcomed at Bruce House by the Ag. Economic Planning Secretary, Festus Wangwe who heads the Directorate. He was taken through the functions of the Directorate, the priorities in 2024/25, achievements made and challenges that the team is facing.
The PS was also taken on a tour of the offices at Bruce House so as to appreciate the conditions under which the SDEP staff are working.
Additionally, PS Makokha met the Development Planning and Policy Directorate at the 10th floor Boardroom at Treasury Building.
This Directorate is responsible for: macroeconomic modelling and forecasting; economic policy coordination and research; spearheading national and sectoral development planning; alignment of MTEF budgets with national priorities; overseeing national statistics and population management; supporting county planning offices; and, coordinating intergovernmental Planning.
The Principal Secretary was taken through the functions of the Directorate, staff establishment, status of implementation of Performance Contract for FY 2024/25, Committees spearheaded by the Directorate and way forward by the Ag. Economic Planning Secretary Leah Chirchir.
In his response, PS Makokha assured the Directorates of his support and commitment in ensuring that they are well facilitated in order to deliver on their mandates. He emphasized his vision of ensuring that staff needs are met to boost their morale.
The PS was accompanied by among others the Ag. EPS, Timothy Gakuu, Ag. EPS James Maina and the SDS Hezron Nyamberi among others.
