The Economic Planning Principal Secretary Meets With A Team From The Organization For Economic Co-operation And Development
The Economic Planning Principal Secretary, Dr. Bonface Makokha, earlier today, Tuesday, 10th February, 2026 held a consultative meeting with a team from the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) at the Treasury building.
The OECD is a global body that brings together democratic, market-oriented nations to champion policies for sustainable growth and international collaboration.
The meeting aimed to advance the bilateral dialogue initiated last year by reviewing the status of the ongoing partnership between Kenya and the OECD.
Led by the OECD Deputy Secretary-General, František Ružička, the team briefed the PS on the key areas of their partnership.The areas of collaboration include: Sustainable Investment and Trade, Education and Skills, Women and Gender, Data analytics and Public Governance.
In addition, the OECD supports member states through strategic policy exchange and the implementation of rigorous global standards, ensuring that analytical research translates into improved quality of life.
On his part, PS Makokha expressed his appreciation for the OECD delegation’s proactive engagement and consistent follow-up regarding Kenya’s eligibility and readiness for Committee membership.
PS Makokha noted that the partnership is timely, as Kenya seeks to leverage on the OECD’s expertise to advance the Vision 2030 blueprint. This collaboration is particularly critical as the Country continues to execute the Fourth Medium-Term Plan (MTP IV).
Notably, Kenya is in the process of formulating another long-term development framework to succeed Vision 2030.
Present during the meeting were: the Economic Planning Director General, Dr. Masini Ichwara, the Ag. Economic Planning Secretaries, James Maina and Timothy Gakuu and the OECD Policy Analyst Africa, Align Horj among others.
