Courtesy call by the CAS to the Insurance Regulatory Authority

The Chief Administrative Secretary, National Treasury and Planning,  Eric Simiyu Wafukho, paid a courtesy call on the Insurance Regulatory Authority (IRA). He was received by the Chairman of the Board,  Hon. Abdirahin H. Abdi and the Chief Executive Officer Mr. Godfrey Kiptum. The Chief Administrative Secretary was taken through a briefing session on IRA’s mandate, structure, programs, and key milestones.  At the moment Kenya has 56 Insurance Companies,  220 Insurance Brokers and 10,471 Insurance Agents. Future plans at IRA  include; developing strategies to increase coverage from the current 24.5% to comparable levels of ICT penetration.
