Economic Planning Principal Secretary James Muhati receives a delegation from IOM UN Migration

This morning the Economic Planning Principal Secretary James Muhati received a delegation from IOM UN Migration led by Chief of Mission to Kenya, Ms. Sharon Dimanche. The discussion focused on status of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) implementation in Kenya and acceleration pathways beyond the midpoint.
IOM work focuses on SDGs target 10.7 on orderly, regular and responsible migration and mobility for all and its interlinkages with the other goals. The chief of Mission applauded the State Department for the coordination of SDGs implementation in the Country.
The proposed areas of collaboration include:
1. Capacity building and awareness creation on SDGs for both state and non-state actors.
2. Strengthening SDGs tracking and reporting systems and processes
3. Enhancing SDGs stakeholder engagements
4. Stregthening data-driven and inclusive Voluntary National Reviews (VNR) processes
Also present were Ag.EPS Timothy Gakuu, Director SDGs and John Olela among others.
