Grassroots Data Management Phase II Training Continues in Wajir County

Wajir County NGAO officers attentively follow the proceedings during a capacity building workshop on grassroots data management for evidence based planning today at a Wajir hotel.
In his remarks, Andrew Ochieng, Assistant County Commissioner on behalf of the County Commissioner urged participants to be accurate on the data they collect.
He pointed out that in the past, inaccurate data misled the government into planning for wrong priorities leading to misallocation of resources into unviable projects and programs. He also warned the participants to avoid some practices like use and release of unauthorised official data in their possession saying that it may result into very expensive litigation.
On her part, Terry Kimonye, a Director of Economic Planning at the State Department for Economic Planning pointed out that Chiefs and Assistant Chiefs are the closest NGAOs to the public and therefore are in a better position to collect data that affects ther communities on a daily basis noting that this information is key in prioritising development projects.
