The Handing Over and Taking Over Ceremony Of The Director General Kenya Vision 2030 Delivery Secretariat
The State Department for Economic Planning Principal Secretary Dr. Bonface Makokha has today Tuesday, 30th June, 2026 overseen the Leadership transition at the Kenya Vision 2030 Delivery Secretariat (VDS) in Nairobi.
The PS officiated the Handover ceremony as Mr. James Maina assumed office as the VDS Acting Director General (DG) succeeding Mr. Kenneth Mwige.
Dr. Makokha emphasized that this transition comes at a critical time when Kenya is accelerating its Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA) which is firmly anchored on the long-term aspirations of Kenya Vision 2030.
While expressing his deep gratitude, the outgoing DG, Kenneth Mwige, thanked the State Department and the entire VDS management team for their unwavering support throughout his tenure. He noted that the achievements realized, including progress reports and the Model Political Parties Manifesto, were fruits of collective dedication.
Taking the mantle, the incoming Ag. Director General, James Maina, expressed his readiness to get to work immediately. He committed to driving innovation, tracking flagship projects and fostering partnerships to translate National goals into measurable results.
In attendance were: Dr. Haron Komen (SA, SDEP), Mr. Idi Masoud (Director Enablers), Mr. Oliver Mulama (Chief Supply Chain Management Officer), Ms. Florah Mwala (Senior Office Administrator), Ms. Jane Wangechi (Senior Office Administrator) and Ms. Evangeline Mwati (Chief Finance Officer) among other Senior Dignitaries.
