International Monetary Fund ( IMF) Courtesy Call to the State Department for Economic Planning

On Wednesday 17/5/2023, a Team from the International Monetary Fund, ( IMF) visited the State Department for Economic Planning at the Treasury Building on a fact finding mission on the status of the preparation of the Fourth Medium Term Plan(MTPIV) 2023-2027.

The SDEP Principal Secretary, James Muhati led the Economic Planning Team in briefing the IMF Team on the Preparatory Process of the MTPIV 2023-2027,and its alignment to the Kenya Kwanza Administration governance approach of the,“Bottom -Up Economic Transformation Agenda.”

As He briefed the IMF Team, SDEP PS elaborated on the Planning Framework Linkages. He also included in his briefing notes the highlights of the Kenya Vision 2030 achievements as the Macroeconomic Team discussed the projects being planned for in the upcoming MTPIV.

The IMF Team led by Tobias Rasmussen, the Resident Representative in the Nairobi Office was more interested in the areas of Affordable Housing, Water and Sanitation and, the irrigation schemes projects plus their economic impact to Kenyans.

Present during the meeting were Economic Planning Secretary Katherine Muoki, African Department IMF Advisor, Haimanot TEFERRA, IMF Economist, Gorman Amidzic, and SDEP Heads of Directorates.
