Launch of the Public Hearings for the proposed budget for FY 2022/23 and the Medium Term Plan

The National Treasury and Planning Cabinet Secretary Amb. Ukur Yatani launched the Public Hearings for the proposed budget for FY 2022/23 and the Medium Term Plan in Nairobi today, 13th October, 2021 accompanied by the Planning PS Saitoti Torome and the National Treasury PS Dr . Julius Muia.

The objective of the hearings is to receive views from the public on the FY 2022/23 and Medium-Term Budget Sector proposals.  The Forum seeks to fulfil a constitutional requirement for Public Participation in the decision making process.

In his remarks during the launch, PS Saitoti Torome said that the FY 2022/23 and Medium-Term Budget proposals have been prepared based on development priorities outlined in the MTP III of Kenya Vision 2030, and the ‘Big Four’ Agenda as well as the recently developed post Covid Economic Recovery Strategy.

The PS noted that the budget sector proposals have been informed by policies, programmes and projects aimed at achieving aspirations of the Sustainable Development Goals and Africa’s Agenda 2063 and other Regional and International Economic Development frameworks.
