Mashujaa Day Celebrations
Today, the 61st Mashujaa Day Celebrations themed “Transforming Lives Through Sustainable Energy” was held in Ithookwe Stadium in Kitui County.
This year’s theme underscores the importance of sustainable energy in improving lives and promoting national development.
Additionally, the celebration is held in honor of Kenya’s heroes and heroines who played a significant role in the Country’s struggle for independence and those who have contributed to the nation’s development.
While presiding over the event, His Excellency, the President of the Republic of Kenya and the Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Forces, Dr. William Samoei Ruto, noted that the celebrations emphasizes on unity, inclusivity and national development.
The Economic Planning Principal Secretary, Dr. Bonface Makokha attendance signifies his commitment in driving national development and ensuring that government projects are effective and sustainable and aligns with the Country’s long-term goals.
Mashujaa Day is a significant national holiday, observed on October 20th of every year and is a testament to Kenya’s journey towards independence and development.
Present during the Mashujaa Day Celebrations were; the Senegal President, HE. Bassirou Diamaye Faye, The Prime Minister of Zimbambwe, Lady Maria Benvida, the Deputy President of Kenya, Hon.Dr. Kithure Kindiki, the Prime Cabinet Secretary, H.E Musalia Mudavadi, the Speaker National Assembly and the Senate, Rt.Hon.Moses Wetangula and Amason Kingi respectively, Chief Justice, Martha Koome, Governors, Senators, Cabinet Secretaries, PSs, MPs among others
