Meeting Between The Economic Planning Principal Secretary With A Team From The Office Of The Head Of Public Service

The Office of the Head of Public Service (HoPs) team today, Tuesday, 17th March, 2026 paid a courtesy call to the Economic Planning Principal Secretary, Dr. Bonface Makokha flanked by Office of the Prime Cabinet Secretary (OPCS) and the Government Delivery Unit (GDU) respectively at the Treasury Building.

During the meeting, discussions centred-around the upcoming National Accountability Summit 2026, scheduled for April in Nairobi.This landmark event is set to synchronise Kenya’s Fourth Medium-Term Plan (MTP IV) objectives with international transparency standards, ensuring that national planning remains anchored in institutional integrity.

Led by the Office of the Deputy President’s (ODPs) Chief of Staff, Dr.Wanjiku Wakogi, the team briefed the PS on the upcoming summit and how it will spotlight the government’s commitment to transparency by showcasing key accountability interventions, highlighting best practices and outlining clear roadmaps for completing ongoing projects.

On his part, PS Makokha lauded the team for their relentless focus on performance-driven results, noting that 2026 marks a decisive year for the consolidation of government achievements. He emphasized that the collaboration between the HoPS, OPCS and GDU is critical in ensuring that every development project under the Fourth Medium-Term Plan (MTP IV) is not only completed but also felt tangibly by the citizens.

The deliberations also emphasized the importance of aligning these interventions with the broader framework of the Fourth Medium-Term Plan (MTP IV), ensuring that every commitment made translates into tangible service delivery and fiscal responsibility.

Present during the meeting were: the Economic Planning Director General, Dr. Masini Ichwara, the Head of Public Policy and President’s Priority Initiative, Dr. Leah Kasera and the OPCS Advisor, Agnes Odhiambo among others.
