Meeting With The International Federation Of Accountancy (IFAC)

This afternoon ,the 18th August 2025, the Economic Planning Principal Secretary Dr.Bonface Makokha met with The International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) officials at the Treasury building on behalf of the Cabinet secretary FCPA John Mbadi.

‎During the visit, the IFAC team briefed the PS on the IFAC connect Africa 2025, which is set to begin on Wednesday 19th August  to 20th August 2025, marking the first of its kind in Kenya.

‎The IFAC Connect global event series aims to  bring together professional accountancy organizations, regulators, firms, investors and various stakeholders to discuss and support the adoption of international standards and to collaboratively drive transformation suited to regional contexts .

‎FCPA  John Mbadi, welcomed delegates from across the globe and reiterated on the government’s committment to support sustainability transformation, Accountability and public management.

‎Further, the CS emphasized on the government’s delibarate steps to strengthen performance based budgeting , its committment in training and equipping  accountants so that they fully understand the nation’s development goal and align their work accordingly.

‎The officials were drawn from; Pan African Federation of Accountants, International Auditing and Assurance Standard Board among other stakeholders. The PS was accompanied by Jona Wala, Director, Accounting and Exchequer Services.
