Mr. Festus Wangwe is currently the Head of International Economic Partnerships and Frameworks Directorate in the State Department for Economic Planning, The National Treasury.

Mr. Wangwe holds a Master of Arts in Economics from the University of Nairobi and a Bachelor of Arts (Economics) from the same institution. He has attended various courses including Strategic Leadership Development at the Kenya School of Government, Strategic Management Course, Swaziland, SMIA, Computer Packages including statistical packages, Senior Management Course at the Kenya Institute of Administration, Leadership Management and Development at the Chinese Academy of Governance, Beijing, and Economic and Business Journalism at the Kenyatta University.

Mr. Wangwe has over 28 years of experience in the Public Sector. Proven leadership skills and dedicated to maintain high quality standards.  He has served in various capacities such as Director of Planning, Economic Planning, State Department for MSMEs Development, Director and Head of Asia Region, Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, Director at the Foreign Service Academy; Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs.

He has also served as the Deputy Head of Mission and Head of the Chancery, Kenya Embassy, Tokyo, Charge d’ Affairs: Kenya Embassy Tokyo, Minister Counsellor: Kenya Embassy Tokyo, Senior Economist/Deputy Chief Economist/Deputy Head of Economic Planning Department: Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Senior Economist and Technical Personal Assistant to the Minister for Planning, National Development and Vision 2030, and Lecturer: Kenya Institute of Mass Communication.

He is currently serving as an Alternate Director at the NG-CDF Board representing the Principal Secretary, State Department for Economic Planning,
