Economic Planning Secretary

Timothy Gakuu is currently the Acting Economic Planning Secretary in the State Department for Economic Planning, The National Treasury and Economic Planning.

Mr. Gakuu holds a Master of Arts in Economics from the University of Nairobi and a Bachelor of Arts (Economics) from the same institution. He has attended various courses including Strategic Leadership Development, International Management of Rural Development Organizations, Achieving Natural and Global Development blue prints, Budgeting, Information Technology in Budgeting Analysis and Foresting, Devolved Development, Budgeting, Financing and Administration and Computerized Statistical Data Analysis, Management of Rural Development Organizations, Disaster Management, Supply Chain Management (Procurement) and Building and maintaining professional relationships.

Mr. Gakuu has thirty (30) years of public service experience. He was instrumental in pioneering the National Government Constituencies Development Fund Board, Served in Nuclear Power and Energy Agency (NUPEA), Geothermal Development Company (GDC), Youth Enterprise Development Fund (YEDF) Board, UWEZO Fund, Street Families Rehabilitation Fund and Ant-FGM Board. He served as PS-Alternate Director at Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA). He is currently serving as PS-Alternate Director to The Kenya Vision 2030 Delivery Board, and PS-Alternate Director to the East African Portland Cement effective 26th January, 2023.

 

He was given the Head of State Commendation (HSC) Honours, 2008 by the then President His Excellency the late Mwai Kibaki, CGH.
