NEPAD/APRM Kenya Pays A Courtesy Call To The Economic Planning Principal Secretary
NEPAD/APRM Kenya plays a vital role in shaping Kenya’s development and governance landscape.
Earlier today, Thursday, 5th June , 2025 the State Department for Economic Planning Principal Secretary Dr. Bonface Makokha met with the National Governing Council (NGC) Members from the New Partnership for Africa’s Development/ Africa Peer Review Mechanism (NEPAD/APRM) Kenya at the Treasury Building.
The team led by the NEPAD/APRM NGC Hon. Sospeter Ojaamong paid a courtesy call to the PS with the aim to familiarize themselves, exchange greetings and discuss progress of ongoing reform initiatives as well as explore strategic coordinations in line with the National Development Priorities.
During the meeting, the team also briefed the PS on critical areas including the budget, the peer review mechanism, and key legal instruments such as the Act of Parliament and Gazette Notice which are key in supporting the agency in fulfilling its core mandate as a Semi-Autonomous Government Agency (SAGA).
On his part, the PS reiterated the importance of working together with the team especially in assessing the County Peer Review excercise which is currently in progress.
PS Makokha emphasized on the State Department’s efforts in re-engineering and strengthening the NEPAD/APRM mandate in order to support the successful implementation of peer learning workshops, programmes and capacity-building activities.
