International Economic Partnerships and Frameworks Directorate

Overview

The Directorate is responsible for the overall Administrative functions of the State Department. This entails:

Key Functions

  • Formulation and review of policies and strategies on international economic partnerships and frameworks;
  • Integration of international development agenda into national and sub-national plans and policies;
  • Coordination of tracking and reporting of the implementation of obligations under Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD), Organization of African Caribbean and Pacific States (OACPS), and other international economic partnerships;
  • Coordination of tracking and reporting on South-South and Triangular Cooperation (SSTC);
  • Coordination of preparation of Kenya's interventions relating to United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), and United Nations Economic and Social Council (UNECOSOC);
  • Coordination of tracking and reporting on the implementation of decisions, resolutions and outcomes of the UNECA and UNECOSOC;
  • Coordination of New Partnerships for Africa’s Development (NEPAD) and Africa Peer Review Mechanism (APRM) relations;
  • Coordination of monitoring, evaluation and reporting of the implementation Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Africa Agenda 2063, EAC Vision 2050, and other International Frameworks; and
  • Capacity building and advocacy on international economic partnerships and frameworks.
