Dr. Haron C. Komen, Phd

Dr. Haron C. Komen is the Secretary Administration, State Department for Economic Planning.

He holds a PhD from the University of Nairobi where he specialized in Global Business Administration, an MBA from the same Institution specializing in Human Resource Management and BA-Hons from Kenyatta University.

He is trained as a Public Administrator and Manager at the Kenya School of Government. A KASNEB qualified Certified Secretary CS (K).  He possesses Paramilitary and security training from APTC and NIS Academy, Nairobi. He has attended seminars and workshops locally and overseas on various subjects such as International Humanitarian law at San Remo Italy, and Customs and Boarder Administration in Beijing, China and Durable Solutions for Displaced Persons in Copenhagen, Denmark. 

Dr. Komen is a career Public Administrator and Manager with experience spanning over 27 years coupled with immense public, community and voluntary service. He has served in the following stations during his tour of duty; Tharaka Nithi, Meru, Embu, Makueni, Samburu, Elgeyo-Marakwet, Nandi, Kericho, Garissa and is also a former Commissioner for Refugee Affairs, Kenya. 

He is a member of the Institute of Certified Secretaries of Kenya ICS (K) and the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM)(K).
