Principal Secretary Consultative Meeting With Heads Of Sagas

The Economic Planning Principal Secretary Dr. Bonface Makokha this morning, held a consultative meeting with the heads of Semi- Autonomous Government Agencies (SAGAs) at the Treasury Building.
The aim of this meeting was to discuss the upcoming activities and also the Principal Secretary’s six month performance score card since his appointment in April at the State Department for Economic Planning.
The meeting further deliberated on a joint assessment of the Kenya Vision 2030 which is coming to an end and the way forward for the Country’s next long-term development blueprint.
On the upcoming activities, the Principal Secretary briefed the SAGAs on the planned tree planting drive anchored on the presidential directive on JazaMiti initiative in order to achieve the 15 billion trees target by the year 2032 with the objective to enhance environmental conservation and reclaim forest cover.
The exercise is scheduled to be held in Busia County on Thursday, 16th October 2025.
During the ceremony, two buses will be donated to Lupida Secondary and Sierra Girls Secondary schools respectively.
The PS informed the meeting that the head of the Public Service and Chief of Staff Mr. Felix Koskei has confirmed to grace the occasion.
As part of this Elaborate program, the Executive Director Dr. Eldah Onsomu requested that KIPPRA be slotted to launch a collaborative program between the Institution and the Melinda Gates Foundation which will empower women and sensitize them on early marriages, teenage pregnancies and gender-based violence.
In attendance were; the Secretary Administration Dr. Haron Komen, Directors of Economic Planning and SAGAs DGs and CEOs.
