Development of SDGs Recovery Acceleration Strategy

Development of SDGs Recovery Acceleration Strategy

The National Treasury and Planning Chief Administrative Secretary Eric Simiyu Wafukho officially opened a Workshop on Development of the SDGs Recovery Acceleration Strategy in Naivasha on 25/4/2022.

The government of Kenya has been working towards the realization of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to reduce poverty levels, hunger, promote equality, improve health, create employment; just to mention a few.

The hunger situation affecting many communities can only be reduced if the implementation of SDGs is taken seriously by all the stakeholders.

The CAS Eric Wafukho gave counsel that government officers have to come up with documents that encourage moving away from milliards of reports to becoming result oriented.

There should be enough resources allocated, identification of robust innovation and inventions as well as leveraging on inclusivity where stakeholders work as partners to fasten SDGs implementation.

The Economists from various MDAs attending the retreat in Naivasha to develop the Recovery Acceleration Strategy were told.

The meeting was also attended by representatives from the United Nations Agencies and the Civil Societies.
