The 3rd 2024 Voluntary National Review Report(VNR) on SDGs

Kenya is rated as one of the leading Countries in the African Continent in tracking the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through Voluntary National Review(VNR)reports.

 

The first VNR report was published in 2017 and the Second in 2020 respectively.

The State Department for Economic Planning is currently at the peak of developing the 3rd 2024 Voluntary National Review Report(VNR) on SDGs. The Inter – Agency Technical Committee (IATC) appointed by the National Treasury and Economic Planning is meeting in Nakuru County to work on the VNR Report which has a deadline of April, 2024.

 

The 2024 VNR Report is scheduled to be tabled in New York later in July this year during the Annual High Level Political Meeting.

 

The 3rd VNR Report will:

1.Assess progress in the implementation of SDGs since presentation of the last VNR in 2020.

2.Identify challenges in implementation of SDGs and propose solutions to address the challenges and,

3.Generate actionable recommendations for enhancing SDGs implementation in the Country.

 

Attending the preparatory meeting are teams from the UN, European Commission ( ARIS21), Private Sector, Learning Institutions and Civil Society among others.
