Financing Locally-Led Climate Action Program Side Event At The 9th Devolution Conference
Today the 15th August 15th 2025, the National Treasury Cabinet Secretary, Hon. FCPA John Mbadi joined other stakeholders in a side event dubbed: Advancing Equity and Social Justice Through Devolved Climate Action: Community-Led Adaptation, on the sidelines of the Devolution Conference 2025, at the Homabay National School, Homabay County.
The session was hosted by The Financing Locally-Led Climate Action (FLLoCA).
FLLoCA’s objective is to empower local communities in order to drive climate resilience efforts while enhancing the capacity of Counties and National Governments to effectively manage and respond to climate-related risks.
The side event featured a thought-provoking panel discussion among the panelists that spotlighted innovative approaches to community-driven climate resilience.
CS Mbadi’s attendance at the FLLoCA event, signifies the government’s commitment to addressing climate change through devolved climate action and community-led adaptation.
Moreover, his presence highlighted the importance of integrating climate resilience into development strategies.
The Economic Planning Principal Secretary, Dr. Bonface Makokha joined the CS during the event.
In attendance were: Governors from various Counties including: Homabay County, H.E Gladys Wanga, Nandi County, H.E Stephen Sang, Bomet County, H.E Hillary Barchok, Vihiga County, H.E Wilber Ottichilo, MPs and top government officials among others.
