The model tarrifs and pricing policy for county Governments officially launched

Economic Planning Principal Secretary James Muhati officially launched the Model Tariffs and Pricing Policy for County Governments yesterday at a Nairobi Hotel. The Policy will serve as a guide in developing County tariffs and pricing policies and a basis for tariff setting for the County Governments. It will also provide citizens with information that will help them understand and interpret the taxes and levies that they are charged.”The policy will enable citizens understand the services that they expect from the county governments thus enhance openness, accountability and ensure provision of quality services in the counties.” The PS said.

The Policy which was developed by a special Inter-agency Committee under the leadership of the Commission on Revenue allocation (CMA)will also serve as a crucial guide for county governments in generating their own Source of Revenue.
