The National Government Multi-Agency Projects Verification Exercise In Kilifi And Tana River Counties
The Multi-Agency project verification exercise successfully concludes today Friday, 27th March, 2026 under the coordination of the Government Delivery Unit (GDU).
Over the two-day exercise period, teams drawn from key Ministries, Departments and Agencies conducted projects verification visit to Galana Kulalu Irrigation Scheme which enhances food security and enabling infrastructure across Kilifi and Tana River Counties.
Today’s mission focused on critical investments particularly on projects such as: The Malindi Airport Runway resurfacing; Watamu Fish Market under the Economic Stimulus Programme; Tezo Affordable Housing and Ronald Ngala Utalii College.
The engagements offered firsthand understanding of project performance, resource utilization and implementation challenges. The findings will guide ongoing and future interventions hence ensuring that development efforts remain effective.
On his part, the Economic Planning Director General, Dr. Masini Ichwara emphasized on the importance of staying ahead in implementation by adhering to a structured plan and timeline to successfully achieve the project objectives.
Besides, the operation forms part of the State Department’s broader effort to reinforce alignment of Government projects with the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA) and Fourth Medium-Term Plan (MTP IV).
The DG’s presence during the activity, reaffirms the Department’s commitment to monitoring hence driving efficient, accountable and results-oriented development planning.
Ultimately, the exercise leaves behind strengthened collaboration, clear policy direction and renewed commitment to efficient service delivery for the people of Kenya.
In attendance were: The GDU Regional Director, Sherry Litunya; Coast Regional Commissioner, Rhoda Onyancha and Kilifi County Commissioner, David Wanyonyi among other Senior Dignitaries.
