The United Nations Development Program (UNDP)  and  Kenya Strategic Consultative Meeting Held In Nairobi

The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the Kenyan Government held a Consultative meeting on Segment II of the Kenya Government Development Financing (GDF) in Nairobi on 13th October, 2025.

 

Representing the Economic Planning Principal Secretary Dr. Bonface Makokha, the Director General Dr. Masini Ichwara addressed the high level meeting which brought together governments, International financial Institutions and selected partners to share first-hand perspective on GDF.

 

The meeting discussed modalities for accelerating national priorities and delivering development results.

 

During the sessions, success stories were shared and the challenges government and partners face were also highlighted.

 

The deliberations geared towards enhancing partnerships scaling up corporations and ensuring that development resources were effectively utilized to benefit communities.

 

While addressing the gathering, the DG reaffirmed

Kenya’s commitment on linking and empowering the youth through entrepreneurship, creating jobs and reducing inequalities especially in the marginalized Counties.

 

In the spirit of implementation of the Bottom- Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA), the DG noted that the government of Kenya continues to advance the youth agenda anchored on the Fourth-Medium Term Plan which focuses on Education and Decent Work respectively, as envisioned in the global goals (SDGs 4 and 8).

 

In attendance were; the State Department for Foreign Affairs  Principal Secretary, Dr. Korir Sing’Oei, UNDP Resident Representative Mr. Jean Luc Stallion, and UNDP Bureau for Africa Assistant Secretary General and Regional Director, Ms. Ahuna Eziakonwa among other Senior Official
