Tree Planting And Handing Over Of Buses To Schools
Today, the Head of Public Service (HOPS) and Chief of Staff, Felix Koskei EGH presided over the official handover of two new school buses to St. Francis Lupida Secondary School and Siera Girls Secondary School in Busia County.
The two modern buses were donated by the National Government Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF) under the Best Practice Demonstration Program. The buses are expected to ease transportation challenges, foster educational tours and support the schools expanding co-curricular programs.
While presiding over the exercise, the HOPS, Mr. Felix Koskei who was the Chief Guest commended the Lupida residents for their commitment to tree planting, which aligns well with the President’s directive under the JazaMiti initiative.The campaign aims to plant 15 billion trees by the year 2032.
During the event, the Economic Planning Principal Secretary, Dr. Bonface Makokha and host of the occasion, emphasized that the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA) is the backbone of National development and should be a long-term commitment that drives the Country’s Economic Growth.
Present during the event were; the Principal Secretary for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), Susan Mang’eni, the Butula Constituency Member of Parliament, Hon. Joseph Oyula, the NG-CDF Chair, Hon. John Olago and the KIPPRA Chair, Prof. Paul Wachana, the Principal Administrative Secretary (PAS), Executive office of the president -Arthur Osiya, the DGs and CEOs of SAGAs and other top government officials among others.
