Social Intelligence Review

welcome to the first issue of Social Intelligence Review, a newsletterof the Social Intelligence Reporting (SIR) initiative of the Ministry of State for Planning, National Development and Vision 2030.

The Social Intelligence Reporting is a tool used by the Government to assess its development efforts as it strives to provide better services to Kenyans. The SIR information is generated by Social Intelligence teams following visits to facilities and communities to see how funds allocated for provision of education, health and water services have been utilized.Download ....

The SIR captures identified weaknesses in service delivery as well as agreed solutions and follow-up actions.Communities and facility managers are encouraged to take responsibility for solving problems or, where they cannot, come up with a solution, escalating the problem to a higher office.

This issue of the Social Intelligence Review is based on Social Intelligence Reports from 24 districts across the country. The reports covered an average of 12 communities in each district. Social Intelligence teams visited 136 primary schools, 87 health facilities and 56 water facilities. This first round of SIR reports has already generated a number of notable innovations,

demonstrating the potential of Social Intelligence Reporting to stimulate creativity in problem-solving. The publication of the Social Intelligence Review and the Social Intelligence Reporting programme are supported by UNICEF Kenya, under the Social Budgeting Initiative. Download ....
